Looking for a great way to incentivize and entertain the kids on a long road trip?
Are we the only parents who seem to have a couple of very hard-to-please kids who seem to get greater satisfaction from squabbling with each other in the back seat than from enjoying the adventure thats happening around them? I wrote this iPad app for our family, to keep us as parents sane, and keep the kids engaged. Of course this app would be great for any family!
The idea basically goes like this: get the kids to spot tags (number plates) from as many different US States as they can. (We like to add an incentive of 50c for each one - of course you can set your own incentive). It tends to keep them focused on the outside of the vehicle rather than on each other.
The app keeps "score" of who spotted what. Furthermore, it shows where each State is within the USA. For interest sake, you can click on the map to open a Wikipedia page of the respective State which has all sorts of great general knowledge information about the State.
